Musical Youthoriginated in Birmingham with two sets of brothers, Kelvin and Michael Grant, and Junior and Patrick Waite.
Their single "Pass the
Dutchie" was a number 1 hit across the world. The
accompanying video was the first to be played on MTV by black artists.
They
recorded two studio albums, released singles including "Youth of Today"
and "Never Gonna Give You Up", and collaborated with Donna Summer.
The group earned a Grammy Award nomination before disbanding in
1985.
