is a poet, writer, lyricist, and musician who was
born and grew up in Handsworth, Birmingham.
He finished full time education at the age of 13, and was
influenced by "street politics", speaking on local
and international issues.
His first book Pen Rhythm was followed by a performance that
injected new life into the British poetry scene.
His poetry was read at youth gatherings and demonstrations in the 1980s, and
his stage performances and television appearances brought Dub Poetry
straight to the people.
His poetry books for children and teenagers include Talking Turkeys
and Face.
