Council House

in Victoria Square is home to Birmingham City Council's offices.

This Grade II* listed building was completed in 1879 and houses the Council Chamber, Lord Mayor's Suite, and an ornate banqueting suite.

The mosaic above the front door is by Salviati Burke and Co. of Venice. The pediment displays Britannia receiving Birmingham's manufacturers. Green men are featured on the carved decoration on the entablature.

The clock and tower are known as Big Brum. The entrance of the Museum and Art Gallery faces  Chamberlain Square. The "Floozie in the Jacuzzi" representing life force sits on the former site of Christ Church, which was demolished in 1899.
