UB40

is a British reggae/pop band which was formed in Birmingham in 1978. Their name stands for the government's Unemployment Benefit Form 40.

UB40 members include Ali Campbell, Brian Travers, Earl Falconer, James Brown, Mickey Virtue, Norman Hassan, Robin Campbell and Terence Wilson (aka Astro). Their first concert was a birthday party on 9 February 1979 at the Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath.

UB40 has sold over 70 million records. Their hit singles include Food for Thought, Red Red Wine and Can't Help Falling in Love, and their version of I Got You Babe.
