was born in 1968 in West Bromwich, and grew up in
Kidderminster.
He developed a passion for the blues as a teenager, dropped
out of training as a chartered accountant, and moved out of home at 16
to join the English Midlands blues scene.
In 1968 he and guitarist Jimmy Page joined John Bonham
and John Paul Jones to form the New Yardbirds, which became
known as Led Zeppelin.
Plant become recognized as one of the most significant rock singers of
all time, and developed a persona as the "god of rock and roll" with his
mane of long blond hair, flamboyant appearance,
