Robert Plant Led Zeppelin previous      next

Robert Plant

was born in 1968 in West Bromwich, and grew up in Kidderminster.

He developed a passion for the blues as a teenager, dropped out of training as a chartered accountant, and moved out of home at 16 to join the English Midlands blues scene.

In 1968 he and guitarist Jimmy Page joined John Bonham and John Paul Jones to form the New Yardbirds, which became known as Led Zeppelin.

Plant become recognized as one of the most significant rock singers of all time, and developed a persona as the "god of rock and roll" with his mane of long blond hair, flamboyant appearance, bare-chest and on stage antics.
