Mike Skinner
was born in 1978, and grew up in West Heath, Birmingham.He is an English rapper, and combines garage, hip hop, reggae and ska elements in his music.
He is best known for his rap project "The Streets", and wrote "The Story of The Streets" in March 2012.
Mike developed epilepsy from the age of 7. He wrote hip-hop and garage music at home, where he built a sound booth within his bedroom.
He attended Bournville School and then Sutton Coldfield College, working fast-food jobs while start an independent record label The Beats Recordings.
